I just saw a promotion for a news feature about the Karla Homolka case, which is going to tell the whole story about the French and Mahaffey murders. I find it a bit odd that people are outraged that there’s a Hollywood movie about it, yet the news media keeps peddling the story over and over again. There really isn’t much difference. In the end, the news media are profiteering from the tragedy as much as anyone else. Unless some new shit has come to light, why the need to rehash it?

Anyway, today has been a long day. I did sleep a bit later than planned before going to the gym this morning. I didn’t get there until about 7:30, which makes it a bit tough to get everything done and be back here so I can shower before starting work. I had to cram a bunch of work in quickly, because I had a shoot at 1pm.

It was a pretty good shoot. Lindsay was the model, and we did some kind of experimental glamour photos. She wanted to involve some sheer purple fabric. It was kind of like an episode of The Iron Chef except for photography. Maybe I could make a show called The Iron Photographer… Anyway, I made a number of photos involving purple sheer fabric.

Ok, admittedly only one of them clearly shows the purple fabric. There are others though. I am just too tired to process them tonight.

I like the concept of a one-size-fits-all body. The idea doesn’t make much sense, but neither does one-size-fits-all clothing.

After cooking something good, I enjoy going outside for a while and then coming back in so I can smell it again.

I’ve added a random thoughts category for things that are too short to be actual blog entries, but that I want to write about anyway.

I had kind of a fun day today. First of all, I called and cancelled my Telus account, because I found a great cell phone deal from Bell on Tuesday. I am not a huge fan of Bell, but I know they’re being very aggressive with signups lately. I just happened to be near the Bell store in Oakville Place, so I stopped in. The dude in there offered me a deal that was just too good to turn down.

I’m getting all of that for $30 per month, including system access fee and 911 fee. Telus charges $6.95 for the system access fee, and 50 cents for 911, so that’s a nice little bonus. It’s some kind of corporate plan that isn’t advertised, and Telus admitted that they couldn’t touch it, so goodbye Telus.

After that, I headed out to Toronto to shoot a Korean bistro. Nice place, and very chic. My brain malfunctioned in the middle of the shoot and I accidentally formatted the CF card. Fortunately I had my laptop, so I was able to recover the lost photos from the card, but that was really too stupid for words. Anyway, I got free dinner after the shoot. Yum.
